I'm new here on this forum. I'm 45, married 20 years with 2 children. I was tested and diagnosed with ADHD a few years ago and was on adderall XR for most of that time. About 10 months ago, my dr changed me to regular Adderall because I was having trouble sleeping at night. I've also been on focalin for about 10 months for anxiety/depression. My problem with the ADHD is that I was constantly jumping from thing to thing, I could not finish a project if my life depended on it. Well, I could if it was due the next day and then I'd stay up all night gettig it done. The adderall seemed to help at first, but then it leveled off. If I forgot to fill the prescription, I would notice it was out of my system the next day and then would feel the "hit" when I took another but then again, I would start to not notice it again.
So about 3 months ago my dr suggested I go to a new psychiatrist as I didn't like the one that diagnosed me with ADHD. This new dr switched me from adderall to Vynance, starting at a lose dose and increasing. The first weekend I was on it, i was hyperfocused on, of all things, solitaire. I played it most of the weekend and it wasn't until a few days later that my husband wondered outloud if it had to do with the new med. Now I'm stuck on playing 2 online games on my facebook. I don't even like them really. I play them and keep saying to myself "just one more game" and the next thing I know, it's been 2 hours. My children will come in to talk to me and I'll talk with them, but I don't even remember the conversation, just back to playing that stupid game. Or I will start to research say a new cable company on the computer and I get so involved that it takes forever and I don't realize that I've been messing with it forever until my husband asks what I'm doing and then he reminds me that it's not something that needs to be done right now and maybe I should instead pay some of our bills that are past due.
I'm going to call my dr as my home business is slipping and I need to know if this is normal or what is going on. Does anyone else have issues like this? I'm not jumping from thing to thing anymore, but this hyperfocus is maddening.
I think I may have issues, too.

momof2sweethearts,
I think your user name is wonderful. I've read many posts on this forum; however, I want you to know that this is only the second post I've responded to. I hope it shows up in the right place.
I, too, started Vyvanse almost three months ago, when I started with a new psychiatrist (due to a relocation). Since I had been using Adderall for at least 7 or 8 years, and I felt sort of "stuck", I decided to try the Vyvanse. The psych. said I should take the 70 mg. pill first thing in the AM, and at about 4:00 PM, when it's probably out of my system, I should take an Adderall to get me through the rest of the day.
I've been back to see the psych. twice (after the first time). In response to her questioning me about the new meds., I told her I thought it was "smoother" than the Adderall (though I definitely needed the Adderall towards mid-afternoon). She said that was the feedback she had gotten from others.
I do think I've been on the Internet far more in the last month than ever before. Someone might even say I'm lost without my computer. My "game of choice" is researching information related to what either I or my family members may be going through at any given time. If I have to send a gift or buy an item for the house, I'll spend hours online going from one website to the next. That is why your post caught my eye.
I'm going to reread about the side effects of the Vyvanse later today. I read the insert that came from the pharmacy the first time I got the meds filled, but I don't remember what I read. I've also felt a little nauseous this week; I attributed it to the heat. Maybe that's a side effect, too.
Thanks for posting. Hopefully, others will join in.

I am 42 I take vyvance 70 m in am around 20m around 3:30 PM. The problem with the vyvance is I do not feel when is coming out of my system so I need to be very careful to take the adderall.
Vyvance is really great it helps to focus a lot and do what I need
I have been taking Vyvanse

I have been taking Vyvanse 70mg once a day for almost a year. Over the past month I have been seeing ALL of my symptoms coming back. I am now way tired even after taking it. I see all of the side effects and some that aren't mentioned to many places. I am so depressed about this and when I talked with my doctor (a GP we just moved so I chose a doc who "had ADHD experience") he really did not seem to care other than to say you should not be having that problem and there are not withdraw symptoms.

My husband was the same. He took it, and felt much more in control of his symptoms, to the point he was able to apply for, and get, two jobs. The one he has now is pretty much his dream job.
But after several months, it seemed to stop working. His ADD coach said she couldn't work with him until he got better medicated. He has been through several of them, and now is taking Concerta. Seems to be working so far, but he's having neurological side effects, shaking and such, that he didn't have with Vyvanse.
Please try to find a psychiatrist to work with.

I started to use Vyvance a few weeks ago after my doc saw that I could tolerate Adderall. I stopped taking it 2 weeks later. I took only one a day and was anxious and not focused. Our brains are different and we all react differently. I am taking the Adderall again and all is well.
