I had been feeling very dragged out and lightheaded last week. On Friday, I went to an urgent care facility thinking it might be COVID. They did do a swab, but they were concerned it was heart related and did an EKG. That was OK, but they told me to go to the ER to make sure it wasn't a heart problem that they could not detect. After several hours hooked up to monitors, a blood test, a strep test, and a urine sample, they told me there was nothing physically wrong with me. The diagnoses was stress--the doctor said that stress could be interrupting my sleep.
My daughters has been in psychiatric hospitals three times since July, with even more ER visits. Last week, she started screaming in a very triggering manner while sitting next to me on a reentry meeting for her school. I had a lot of pressing work, but I kept getting pulled away for family issues.
I told my kids about the ER visit and the stress. Today, my son refused to go to school.
Bless you friend...

How have you been since the visit?
This is all clearly taking a toll on you. Are you able to fit in anything for yourself? Especially therapy, even if it's only once a month? You know that saying, about carving out some time? In our situations, it is truly carving.
When life at our house was the worst for me, I desperately needed quiet where there was no conflict and no emergencies. I had to lose sleep to do it, but my stress level went down by getting up earlier in the morning to be alone. That way, the problem people were asleep. Staying up later didn't help, but getting up earlier did. If I stayed up later, I was so stressed out that I needed lots of time to come down, then more time to relax. But if I did it in the morning, sleep had helped my stress level. And I could just relax and soak in the restorative quiet.
Anyway, I am concerned for you. I hope you can watch your health really closely. No one else will do it for us, that much is certain, and of all the things that dysfunction can take from us, our health is at the top of things we don't want to lose to the conditions of others.
