I don't know where to begin to talk about a book I read the last two days. it is called "Refuse to Choose" by Barbara Sher. She's been helping people for years to find their passions in life and to act on them. She goes into great detail about people she terms
"scanners" and her descriptions are just like the ones I have read about ADD. What is unique about this book is that she spends each chapter describing a different style of thinking. She sees the obstacles each particular style of thinking has, then she begins to suggest solutions like a coach. It has given me a renewed sense of hope and encouragement.

Thank you for your suggestion, and please continue posting book recommendations. I've been more successful gathering and testing solutions from books than coaches (just me, coaching works for others), and welcome new options. Right now, I'm reading Find Your Focus Zone, but I've just started, so I can't provide much more information than the title. My husband and I are hoping we can successfully implement the "eight keychains" - we certainly need to better hook our attention! ~N
Nettie, I wrote down the book

Nettie,
I wrote down the book you posted. I read a lot and am trying to understand my ADD boyfriend. My last book was organizing for your brain type. I got more out of the book than I expected. She believes that the brain has 4 main sections and that when one section is predominate it determines a lot of our behavior. She also goes on to describe the types of organizing that is successful with the 4 types. I was especially interested in the section where she takes the 4 types and couples them up to explain why we have conflict over various organizing styles.
