All of your posts are hitting home with me, especially the ones where your spouses recall things differently from what they actually were. I had this happen with my ex-husband.

The 'alternate remembering' (i.e. morphing the past into anything that benefits the ADHDer) is one of the most difficult behaviors to explain to anyone who does not experience it on a daily basis. 'It can't really be that bad!' you might hear but it is actually far worse. After years of this you start to question your own sanity. The ADHDer is so adamant about their 'recollection' and then employs RSD Rage to shut you up. Everytime. Forever. But, but, but... And it never stops. Best to figure a way to deploy 'C u Self''s boundaries but it is not easy (as you reflect on the years of your life pissed away in just this manner.) And the ADHDer does not even see it. Ever.

The alternate remembering is gaslighting. I face this behavior all the time. It is exhausting to deal with.

It's like will it get better said....It's worse than any one can imagine.....LOL....Oh my!....It's like arguing with somebody that's in the late stages of dementia....Let it go!....LOL>...
