My husband and I had a talk last night and he informed me he has something called Emotional Trauma/CPTSD, how to I deal with this along with the ADHD, any suggestions or advice would greatly be appreciated.
Thanks,

He needs a therapist

Hi
I dont think you can deal with it. You are not a trained therapist (correct me if im wrong). I applaud your husband for identifying he needs help and sharing that with you, its a great step. But now he needs to get help for his mental health.....both CPTSD and ADHD. You unfortunately cannot do that. When my ex started to say he had autism (which i later identified was ADHD), he would just talk. I researched, listened to podcasts and made a list of behaviours that supported an ADHD diagnosis. I continually pushed him to seek out a psychiatrist for a formal ADHD. This took 3months but he did it. However he hasnt done anything since.
My point is your husband is in charge of his own mental health. As his wife you can support, show love, point him in the right direction for help but there becomes a point he needs to do this for himself. You unfortunately, cannot.
Best of luck to you both x
Thank You

Elliej, Thank you and yes I know I'm not a therapist, but I do want to learn all I can about C-PTSD, I think that is the best way to help my husband.
He is in therapy now, not sure how long he will keep going with it, and that is ok.
I'm on my journey of happiness, peace, ect.

My partner has ADHD and PTSD.

My partner has ADHD and PTSD. All I can see is a long road ahead for him to start to heal. It makes him understandably avoidant, negative about our relationship and self-isolating. I get to choose between walking on eggshells and giving him space. Probably not forever but all I can do is work on myself and try not to pick up his trauma. I have started counselling to decide on next steps.
