The same is true in fathers. I’ve read a number of online articles confirming what all of us reading kids with an ADHD partner already know; they have a very difficult time handling the frustration that is parenting. On top of that, they are more likely to have a child or multiple children with the same problems that they have, which means a whole lot of mess. ADHD tends to bring family dysfunction into full bloom.

I think that my ex's emotional dysregulation had effects on his parenting abilities. Unfortunately, these negative effects bothered me more than they bothered him. (As is true of so many aspects of ADHD, right?)
