Even though I have NEVER mentioned it to him, my DH is about 60 pounds overweight. The extra weight really doesn't look bad on him, considering how tall he is so even when he mentioned it I just told him he looked fine (he was underweight and looked like a walking skeleton when I met him). We have had WAY bigger issues than his weight to deal with. Well...at his doctor appt. yesterday they told him that with his family history of diabetes, he needs to get off the computer, exercise and lose some of the weight. Also yesterday he joined the flag football team (at the college he goes to) and they had their first game. Hahahahaha he wasn't as "in shape" as he thought he was. So this morning on the way to work/school he looks over at me and says "I am going to start walking with you after work". I usually go for a run every night so I guess I am slowing to a walk, but it was so awesome to see him make a positive decision by himself with NO input from me!!! :)

That is wonderful. I have read nothing but good things about physical exercise and how it helps those with ADHD. I know how much better (emotionally) I feel since I started walking. I walk when I can...2-3 days a week typically. I started it as a way to help avoid anti-depressants and I feel it has really helped. Happy to read this! :)

Outdoor time is good, too, I think

The walking exercise is great, and the time outdoors may also be good in its own right. See http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/j.1758-0854.2011.01052.x/abst... -- more here: http://www.additudemag.com/adhd/article/1537.html
Those articles are about kids, but I don't see why adults would react any differently. I find myself wasting way less time on the computer after I get outside for awhile. But I'm basically useless if I go too long without outdoor time.
Now that I think about it, I hyperfocus on our garden.
I believe going outside is good for ADD. And ADDers are more fun to walk around with. We notice all the cool plants and rocks and stuff.
I almost couldnt keep up!

LOL, we went for our first walk last night and I think tonight I am wearing my running shoes. First off hes 6ft4 and im 5ft3, so he walks faster anyway, but he decided to power walk!!! He hasn't done anything resembling exercise in over a year so he was paying for it this morning..hehehehehehe, can we say a bit sore. It was fun though and it was awesome to get one on one time with him... :)
